Job Summary:

Provides secretarial support in an urgent care environment, including patient scheduling, appointments, confidential records, filing and billing.  Prepares manuscripts, abstracts, and slides by typing and formatting documents.   Works with others in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following;   

  1. Preferably experienced in a healthcare setting.
  2. Warm outgoing personality, with the ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds.
  3. Ability to work well under pressure.
  4. Requires good grooming, and dress habits which reflect a professional image.
  5. Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients: assure patient confidentiality at all times.
  6. Must have computer knowledge in the use of, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.  Able to type routine correspondence and reports using personal computer.
  7. Schedules patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, and consultations.
  8. Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests and examinations.
  9. Assists patients or family members with completion of pre-registration forms.
  10. Obtains pre-certifications as required by patients’ health care insurers or managed care providers.
  11. Informs patients of costs of care being provided.  Collects and post fees according to protocols; prepare and balance daily financial registers and submit all forms and fees to the fiscal department.
  12. Answers telephone, screens callers, relays messages, and greets visitors.
  13. Maintains calendar, schedules appointments and meeting rooms.
  14. Picks up and delivers materials as required.
  15. Opens, sorts and screens mail.
  16. Maintain forms and office supplies required for front desk activities.
  17. Makes travel and accommodation arrangements.
  18. Secure the building at the close of each working day; turn off or unplug appliances and machines, and lock all entrances.
  19. Assure the readiness of the reception area for each working day; open the building at the designated time and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of business hours.
  20. Trains new employees.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, is responsible to assist the Physician, PA, or NP in support of medical care of urgent care patients. Day to day activities will vary from answering phones, taking medical histories, to performing lab work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to consistently receive and greet visitor, patients, and staff members in a professional manner.
  2. Perform selected nursing and administrative duties.
  3. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signs.
  4. Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
  5. Administer injections and apply dressings as instructed.
  6. Distribute medications as directed by Physician, PA, or NP.
  7. Requires ability to perform vena puncture.
  8. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  9. Assist provider in preparing for minor surgeries and exams.
  10. Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
  11. Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
  12. Maintain patient files, records and other information.
  13. Work closely with the Physician, PA, or NP to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients.
  14. Perform direct patient care as instructed by the Physician, PA, or NP.
  15. Perform lab tests as directed by the Physician, PA, or NP.
  16. Adjust to quality assurance policies and procedures concerning all physical therapy issues.
  17. Maintain equipment for use at all times, in a clean and safe condition.
  18. Makes suggestions to improve work methods.
  19. Trains new employees.

Job Summary:

Perform radiological duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process. Perform selected medical technician, lab, administrative, and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management under the direction of a Physician, PA, or NP. These duties are delegated in relation to the individual’s degree of training, in accordance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  2. Protect patients, yourself and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards.
  3. Develop and process radiological film.
  4. Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by Physician, PA, or NP.   Maintain a repeat rate of two percent or less.
  5. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  6. Report immediately any equipment malfunctions to Supervisor.
  7. Log completed radiological procedures. Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
  8. Identify and file reports as required.
  9. Maintain x-ray room, stock necessary radiological supplies.
  10. Request, retrieve and track files to and from other departments or centers.
  11. Work closely with the Physician, PA, or NP to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients.
  12. Perform lab work as directed by Physician, PA, or NP
  13. Makes suggestions to improve work methods.
  14. Train new employees.
  15. Assist other Medical Technicians and Medical Assistants
  16. Assist Check In and Check Out of Patients as needed.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Medicine, the Physician Assistant shall perform medical histories and physical examinations; assesses patients’ medical/surgical conditions; administer treatments and in conformity with the approved protocol; advise and counsel patients or legal guardian of patient problems; assist physician as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Performance of health assessments, including a thorough history and physical examination, ordering or performing certain diagnostic tests, evaluation of the psychosocial and family aspects of the situation sufficient to make a general health assessment, and diagnose the nature of common acute and chronic conditions.
  2. Promotion and maintenance of family health, including planning of periodic health assessments and screening for early case findings, assessment and guidance with regard to health hazards, child rearing, good family health habits, family planning, mental and emotional problems, and continued maintenance of contact and rapport with family.
  3. Management of common acute and chronic illness, including minor trauma, episodic problems, common chronic disorders, as well as counseling and education with regard to such problems as minor surgical procedures and initiation of life-saving procedures in emergencies.
  4. Supervision of non-professional staff including making recommendations for promotion, commendation, or disciplinary action where necessary or appropriate.
  5. Referral of complex and high priority cases to the physician on duty with regard to complicated diagnostic problems, serious illness, complicated therapeutic problems, re-evaluation of chronic conditions, etc.
  6. Identifies normal and abnormal findings in history and physical exam.  Orders appropriate laboratory and x-ray studies.
  7. Writes prescriptions as permitted by the Protocol approved by the Board of Medicine.
  8. May perform the following routine diagnostic procedures if made a part of the Protocol:
    1. Venipuncture
    2. Urethral catheterization
    3. Nasogastric intubation and gastric lavage
    4. Collection and preparation of speciments
    5. Peak expiratory flow measurements
    6. EKG tracings
    7. Slit lamp examinations
    8. Tonometry
    9. Anoscopy
    10. Visual screening
    11. May perform the following routine therapeutic procedures if made a part of the Protocol:
    12. Injections and immunizations
    13. Debridement, irrigation, suturing and routine care of superficial wounds
    14. Suture removal
    15. Treatment of minor superficial burns
    16. Removal of superficial foreign bodies
    17. Incision and drainage of abscesses, wound irrigation and packing, evacuation of        hematomas, nail removal for infections
    18. Control of external hemorrhage
    19. Application of dressing and bandage
    20. Subcutaneous local and digital anesthesia
    21. Anterior/Posterior nasal packing for epistaxis
    22. Splinting of sprains and fractures
    23. Cast removal
    24. Carry out aseptic and isolation techniques
    25. Reduction of dislocations of shoulder, knee, digits, and simple fractures of the digits
  9. Working as a member of the health care team, and assisting in education of patients and the target community in preventive health care and health maintenance concepts.
  10. Ability to work autonomously as a Physician Assistant is required as is the ability to work well under pressure.
  11. Demonstration of patterns of continued learning in order to ensure growth as a practitioner.
  12. Makes suggestions to improve work methods.
  13. Trains new employees.
  14. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Current Arizona license to practice above mentioned duties.
  2. Ability to relate well with patients and other health care personnel.
  3. Cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically diverse patient – and employee – base.
  4. Willingness to educate patients and the community in health maintenance and the role of the health care team.
  5. Ability to work as a team member.
  6. Preferably bilingual in Spanish / English.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from a certified Nurse Practitioner program, which entails training as well as practice in the above mentioned duties.  Prefer previous experience providing medical care within an urgent care center environment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

A current State of Arizona license as a Nurse Practitioner is required.   Provide evidence of prescription authority approved by the State of Arizona Board of Medicine.   Maintains CME hours for re-certification.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, is responsible to perform tests to obtain the data necessary for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.  Perform a variety of tests on body fluid and tissue samples.  Types of tests include analyzing blood and urine and identifying microorganisms from the body and well as utilizing equipment that ranges from simple to complex. May perform phlebotomy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Draws blood, stores test sample for necessary procedure and reports out to the ordering physician.
  2. Cleans and maintains laboratory facility.
  3. Prepare media.
  4. Operates standard laboratory equipment including autoclave, centrifuge and spectrophotometer.
  5. Operates specialized testing equipment.
  6. Communicates patient and laboratory information.
  7. Screens and processes incoming patients.
  8. Maintains files and records; records data.
  9. Orders, inventories and issues medical and office supplies.
